Angela was accredited as a mediator in 1996. In 2003 she was appointed to the Court of Appeal Mediation Panel, is a panel member of Trustmediation, a former member of The National Law Society ADR Commity and is former Director of ADR net. She receives mediation referrals from a wide variety of sources.
Angela is a very experienced mediator having conducted more than 100 mediations and mediated in other jurisdictions. She was very heavily involved in the Central London County Court scheme when in its infancy and in the mediation pilot at Newcastle upon Tyne County Court. Angela mediated in the NHS mediation pilot scheme and has been actively involved in training Judges from other jurisdictions in mediation. She has lectured extensively on the subject.
She qualified as a solicitor in 1994 and has practiced in clinical negligence law since that time. She deals with cases of the utmost severity, usually involving children injured at birth resulting in profound brain injury but has vast experience across the board in clinical negligence matters.
She is a member of the Law Society Clinical Negligence Accreditation Scheme and AVMA Specialist Clinical Negligence Panel.
She is listed in Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners and is recommended as a leader in her field.
A biochemist by training she particularly enjoys the forensic nature of investigating a case. Her clients are drawn from a wide geographical area on the basis of her reputation. Her experience ranges across all medical disciplines and she has pursued cases against Trusts, GPs, the Ambulance Service, private clinics and alternative therapists. Angela has experience of disciplinary hearings before the GMC. She is a keen advocate with lots of experience in the Coroners Court.
She has been head of Serious Injury and Court of Protection departments over the past 25 years and has considerable experience in both areas.
